Cold Email Daily

Lucero says first client month booked 119 meetings

The number covers two channels, so it is not a cold email reply benchmark.

Matt Lucero posted that his team finished a client's first month with 119 meetings booked, generated by cold email plus a caller re-engaging leads. He put the result down to three things, a large TAM, an offer he describes as solving a major problem, and the team running the outreach, which is his own.

That is the whole disclosure. There is no send volume, no list source, no inbox count, no industry and no description of the offer beyond the claim that it works. There is also no split between meetings booked straight off an email reply and meetings booked by the caller working leads that had already responded.

What the number is and is not

A first month at 119 meetings is a number worth noting, but it is a two channel number from one agency about one client, posted by the agency. It cannot be compared with a cold email reply rate or a meetings per thousand sends figure, because part of it was produced by a human on the phone chasing people the email had already warmed. Without the volume, you cannot work backwards to a rate at all.

The phone component is the part that tends to carry weight. Christian has previously said dials beat email on the same list, earlier, which is a different operator and a different account, but it points at the same structural issue. When a campaign result includes callers, the email is often doing the job of generating a reason to call rather than booking the meeting itself.

For people sending, the practical read is to treat 119 as an agency case study headline and not as a target. If you want to use it, the question to ask is how many of those meetings existed before anyone picked up a phone, and Lucero's post does not answer that.
